If you submit a complete application here, it will be reviewed by all of the organizations where you meet their qualifications. 

Applications may be made online beginning September 1, 2012, and must be submitted by March 31, 2013. Please read the Eligibility Requirements page first, and make sure you are qualified to apply for one or more of these scholarships.

You apply by completing the on line application form below. You might not have all the required information when you begin this process. You can start the application now, "submit" and save this form using your e-mail address and a password of your choice. You can log on later to retrieve, update, and complete your application. You may continue to update your application until March 31, 2013 or until it has been assigned to reviewers.

NOTE to 2013 applicants.  You will need to submit your transcripts and references to complete your application.  Please make sure your name is clearly on every page.  You may attach them to your on-line application, mail them to the address on the application form, or fax them to the attention of Jennifer Hollar at (919) 549-4824.  You may also submit additional items by e-mail. Please show your name and “GAAS Scholarship Application Information” in the subject line of the e-mail. Please show a description of any attached files in the text. E-mail them to media@mema.org.

You will be asked for a one-page essay about your career goals. This may be entered directly into the on-line application, or attached to the application as a Word or Adobe .pdf file.

You will be asked for at least one letter of reference. The best reference letters come from your employer, an automotive teacher or counselor, or your sponsor from the automotive aftermarket.  Some of the organizations that work with GAAS require a reference from one of their members.  Each organization's page has the details about their eligibility requirements.

You must submit your high school transcript, and your post-secondary transcript if you are already in a post secondary program.  We will accept copies of school transcripts.

Paper documents such as your school transcripts or reference letters can be handled several ways. If you have a way to scan them to Adobe .pdf files, you can attach these files to your on line application. Or, you can mail, fax, or e-mail them to the addresses on the application form, and they will be attached to your application. Please put your name clearly on every page if you do this.

Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
