Support The Industry’s Future.

Chairman’s letter

In 2007, 154 students who plan careers in the automotive aftermarket received Global Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships to help get their careers started on the right track. In the eleven years of the scholarship, more than 1,300 students have received aid totaling more than $1,300,000. Of the 154 scholarships given this year, 12 were awarded to Canadian students.

A complete list of 2007 scholarship winners can be found in the recipients section of the website.

Applications for 2008 may be made on line at the Application page of this Web site, from September, 2007 through March 31, 2008.

In addition, GAAS is collaborating with many other automotive aftermarket organizations that also award scholarships.  Approximately 50 additional scholarships will be available in 2008 from the Association of Diesel Specialists, many of the regional automotive wholesaler associations, and others.  Your application will be reviewed by each organization where you meet their qualifications.  A full list is on the home page, and there are detailed eligibility requirements for each other organization on their pages.  Please read all of these other organization pages so that you can include information required.  You might get multiple awards from one complete application submitted here.

A separate application for Canadian students is available from the Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada at 613-728-5821, or at their organization's Web site: www.aiacanada.com.

The GAAS scholarships are funded through proceeds from the annual Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium and other contributions. Learn more about the Symposium in the “About the Symposium” section of this site, or visit www.globalsymposium.org. The Symposium’s two-day program brings together numerous industry executives and examines the issues and trends affecting the automotive aftermarket industry and influencing its future. GAAS has become the aftermarket's premier educational conference. The 2008 GAAS Symposium will be held May 20-21, 2008 in Chicago, Illinois. Visit: www.globalsymposium.org for more information.
